Pack wisely for a hiking trip

Eyeing on a hiking trip in the coming week? Here are some helpful packing tips to ensure a comfortable hiking experience.

Firstly, make a list of your backpacking stuffs like toiletries, cookware, first aid box, sleeping gear, clothing etc. and organize the items into piles. It is good to take zip lock or re-sealable bags as they are space saving and prevents moisture growth inside. Place the lightweight gears like the sleeping bag and pillow put at the bottom of the bag. The heavy items must be kept close to the hiker’s back, mainly between his shoulder blades.

If you take too much load in the hiking backpack or else do not stuff them properly, you might experience discomfort and pain in the shoulders, neck or back. The experts recommend you can carry up to 25-30% of the total body weight. Also tighten the compression straps to keep the gear in proper place. The heaviest items in your gear should be placed closest to your back, preferably between your shoulder blades.
